For the seventh year running, Saint-Nazaire has been awarded the Blue Flag for 3 of its beaches, one of which is the Plage des Jaunais. This family-friendly beach is supervised by qualified lifeguards during July and August, from 11.30am to 7pm on weekdays, and from 11am to 7pm at weekends, depending on the tides.
The second beach at Les Jaunais, to the east of the supervised beach (behind a rocky spur), is reserved for naturists.
Dogs (except guide dogs), horses and all other animals are forbidden on Saint-Nazaire's supervised beaches from 15 June to 15 September. (Authorised the rest of the year).
