In Saint-Joachim (44), from the Ile de Fédrun in the heart of the marsh, Valérie will show you the flora and fauna of the Brière and tell you all about the local history and traditions during a one-hour barge trip. To give you the best chance of spotting the species typical of the marsh, the walk is only done with a pole, according to local tradition.
After the walk, a small exhibition in the thatched cottage will tell you all about the peat, the morta, the myocastor, the eel weasel, the bosselle, the marking of ducks at Fédrun, and everything else that makes up the charm and authenticity of the Brière, one of the largest wetlands in France, and a biotope as unique as it is diverse.
Valérie Aoustin-Huard was awarded the Marque Parc by the Parc naturel régional de Brière for the quality and authenticity of her service.
